The Physiotherapy Unit provides assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation to restore function, reduce pain, and prevent further injury. Care follows current clinical guidelines and is tailored to each patient.

Services

• Musculoskeletal assessment for spine and peripheral joints.
• Post‑injury and post‑operative rehabilitation.
• Exercise prescription, strength and conditioning, flexibility, posture training.
• Manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, joint mobilization.
• Electrotherapy modalities, ultrasound, TENS, IFC.
• Heat and cold therapy.
• Gait training, balance and coordination exercises.
• Ergonomic advice for work or study.
• Sports injury management and graded return to activity.
• Patient education and self‑management plans.

Common conditions managed

• Neck and back pain, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle pain.
• Sprains, strains, tendinopathy, overuse injuries.
• Post‑fracture and post‑surgical rehabilitation.
• Postural syndromes and work‑related musculoskeletal disorders.
• Basic cardiopulmonary or neurological rehabilitation where appropriate, with referral if advanced care is needed.

Access and referral

• Services are for eligible students and staff.
• A clinician’s referral are required for certain conditions.
• Cases outside scope are referred to suitable facilities.

Patient guidance

• Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement.
• Bring previous reports, imaging, and a medication list.
• Arrive early for registration and initial assessment.
• Follow home exercise and safety instructions as advised.
