EMERGENCY

Emergency services are provided for patients who need urgent treatment, including resuscitation and referral to hospital when required.

Ambulance services

• Two ambulances are available.
• Primary use is to respond to emergency calls within the university.
• Patients are referred or transported to other clinics or hospitals if necessary.

Triage categories

• Critical emergency: Cases with danger signs and unstable vital signs.
• Non‑critical emergency: Cases without danger signs and with stable vital signs.

Types of emergency cases

• Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath.
• Fainting or unconsciousness.
• Shock.
• Heart attack.
• Anaphylaxis.
• Accident, serious injury, or severe bleeding.
• Severe abdominal pain.
• Burns.
• Seizures.
• Obstetric emergencies, for example labor or miscarriage.
• Drowning victims.
• Poisoning.
• Animal bites or stings.
• Mental disorder with aggressive behavior.
• Stroke.
